“Emily truly has a gift and passion for music and it’s evident in her teaching techniques and cheerful personality. Her experience and education has prepared her to teach with such a personal touch. Each week I feel like she is focused on me and understands exactly where I am at and what direction to take me next. She knows my strengths and weaknesses and plans my lessons in the best way for me. I really enjoy how she explains the theory behind the music and points out the patterns in the music. I have been able to reach my goals these past two years that she has taught me and I have learned so many other helpful skills at the same time. Skills that I didn’t even know I needed. She has confidence in me and an expectation that I will achieve what I’m capable of. Thank you Emily for everything you do to help me and all of your other students reach their potential. You are the best!!”

“Hi, my name is Andee and I have been taking piano lessons with Miss Emily and I am eager to continue learning and developing my love for music with her. Miss Emily makes the lessons fun where we learn new songs together, do rhythm training with plastic cups, and practice the music theory. Each year we also have a holiday concert where family and friends get to come and see everyone perform. The last 2 years we did it virtually but it was still so great hearing everyone’s beautiful songs. For this we also do a group routine where everyone plays a holiday song with bells together. We all learn our part and then practice together before the concert. It is so cool to hear it all come together! I love learning piano with Miss Emily!”

“I am starting my second season of piano study and I am pleased with my progress and with my experience so far. Emily is easy to get along with and stays in touch throughout the week via email and Square. She is a talented and knowledgeable musician and teacher who communicates expectations well. She developed a well-rounded program based on the RCM syllabus which was personalized for my preferences, needs and goals. There is a lovely Yamaha U1 piano for students or virtual lessons available via Zoom. Pricing seems on par with other local offerings. Included are recitals twice a year, handouts and seasonal pieces (Christmas, Halloween, etc.) to play and you get the sense that she really cares about your progress. I would recommend that anyone interested make an appointment for a consultation and/or a sample lesson.”

“I decided recently to go back to piano lessons. As it had been many years since I played I wasn’t sure where to start. Emily took the time to create a study plan that has not only increased my abilities as a player but also as a person. Her support has been unfailing and because of that I have grown in confidence as well as skill. I enjoy my lessons so much that I have increased my lesson time.”

“My son has been taking piano lessons with Emily for six years. Emily is a caring and patient person and teacher. Emily opened her home to continue teaching, if it wasn’t for that I do not think my son would have continued his piano lessons. My son has some disabilities and it is hard form him to leave the house and meet new people, but Emily she makes it comfortable for him and it shows in his playing. Thank you Emily for all you do for Tyler. You are a God Sent.”

“Two months ago, my daughter Ena started taking piano classes with Emily and we have been so happy with everything Ena learned so far. Emily is such a wonderful and caring teacher. Her teaching method is thorough and instructive, which helps build a solid foundation for kids to develop their interests and skills in playing piano. Ena looks forwards to her class every week. She is eager to learn and practice her little pieces.” Adisa
“Emily is such a great teacher. There are some things that we do and are not that much fun but she always makes it fun. She is always so energetic and the class is never boring. I love coming to her place and seeing her cats. She never loses patience with me, even if I make a mistake. She always tells me, “It’s okay, try again.” We have so much fun and she has such a great sense of humour. We laugh so much! I love when I get my homework and I can play it as a duet with my Mom.” Ena
